I was also thinking of going to 255 X 45 X 17. There seem to many more types of tires that I might prefer. These include Yoko DBS, Firehawk SZ50, dunlop Sport 9000. Generally looking for a more refined ride without giving up too much performance compared to current Pirellis. Cost and wear are secondary, but I want to avoid high cost or wear problems. The larger size 255 X 50 seems to have too few choices (at Tirerack) for me to consider.

Any comments would be appreciated on this size working (though 2.3% smaller in circumference) and on these tires. I have Yoko DBS already on another car and like them. Thanks.

Mark G.

If it were me, on a stock suspension I would go with 255/50's... check out the attached URL for all your tire sizing calculations.
