I have owned a Datsun 240Z, and a Nissan 280ZX. I looked to these cars for performance, and fun, but what I really wanted was a Jaguar XKE coupe. Never managed to pull that one off…. But the XKR coupe does just fine.

The Nissan cars are fine products, I still own two Nissans, and find them quite acceptable. However, the Jaguar is something of a different animal all together. It’s very distinctive, and very noticed. The Nissans are for anonymous actives. Want something different? Not, The Teutonic machines that everybody drives. Not, the “Just Like” impression of the Japanese products. Not, the ham fist of American. Try Jaguar.

I had been thinking for months of getting a used XK8. But as a former 300ZX driver with a stick, I am now thinking of getting the new 2003 Nissan 350Z with the stick I so desire, and for less money than a used XK8. I was wondering what some of the XK8 forum participants thought of it.
