Thanks for info. Now it makes sense. I guess newer BMWs have the same sealed tranmissions and this really a german designed tranmission. On all my other cars, I have done a total transmission fluid replacement every 30K miles. Has made them last longer even though factory says you don't need to do this (warranty runs out before any problems). Does anyone have recommendations in this regard to the XK8?
