I've researched many of the recurring problems with XK8's, but have not read about a recent problem I've encountered. My dealer in Northern Virginia, however, indicated its common occurance and I was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience. While driving at moderate speeds, I can hear a popping noise coming from under the hood. At first it sounded like small backfires through the intake or a suspension spring being thumped. The dealer is certain its the brace connecting from the firewall to the fender at about the shock mount. The brace is secure to the touch, however, the dealer indicated the brace will need new bushings at each end to cure the problem.
