Speakers play what they are given... if they are given crap, they play crap. A $500 set of speakers and a $75 amp sounds MUCH worse than a $500 amp and $75 speaker. Try it.
Having been into competition systems for a while now, I've seen both sides. I never said that the speaker was not a big part of a system (please reread if you disagree). I simply said that it was only a part of a system. You only listed your speakers in your original post, as if you expected their size alone to "make the noise".
Besides the fact that the 15"s you got are way too big for the Xk's boot space (assuming you have a cab), what I can gather from your posts is:
1.) You probably have your REFQ set way to high.
2.) You probably are crossing over in the 120 range with voice on non-voicecoils.
3.) Your offset is probably set too negative.
4.) Your amp probably can't run at the resistence req'd to get those 15"s moving.
5.) Your box is probably not built to the speaker manufacturer's specs.
So, please reply with the answers to the questions in my original post, and we can start working together. Picking at things that I never said (i.e. that speakers were the smallest part of a design) is not going to get you a system that works! :-)
Otherwise... good luck with it!
