Thanks Justin. Its not twisted. The problem started when my 3 year old (someone who fits in the back sear of an XK8) pulled it all the way out. Since then it does not snap back.

A while back I noticed my driver's seatbelt wasn't rewinding quickly or at all. I didn't really look into it at the time, figuring I would have it taken care of under warranty when I brought my car in for it's next oil change.

One day I had some time to kill after work so I went out to see if it wasn't something stupid that was causing the problem... it was. The seatbelt had simply become folded in the loop/guide. I unfolded it and it was fine.
