It sounds as though most improvements happened in '98. One of particular mention here has been the improvement of the roof cover.

As with all cabs, you should check the roof hydraulics. As with all Xk's, you should have the wheel bearings (especially the front) checked.

On a side note, I have often seen many cars advertised in TX for cut-rate pricing. I would be curious if there are any laws that makes TX a good state to title-wash a car, through. I know Pennsylvania can be like that. As always, run a VIN check at Carfax or the like before buying.
