Frank, the closest thing I've seen to a factory manual is the link I've listed with this reply.

They show up on E-Bay from time to time, including the one I've listed here (hope that's not an FAQ violation). Anyway I've not purchased one yet myself as the car is under warranty still.

The convertible top cover does not fit very well, it's one of the common complaints I've seen. Interestingly, the top cover only has 2 snaps on it, but the car has places for 4 snaps. There are the 2 that get used, plus one on the back of each of the rear-seat head rests. One of my brochures shows that the cover is supposed to have 4 snaps to take advantage of these headrest attach points, but I've never seen a cover that actually had the 4.

I just purchased a used 97 XK8 this week and love it. I am wondering if anyone can help me locate a manual for it. Also the convertable top cover doesn't seem to fit very well and was wondering if there is a trick to make it look good. I can't believe that with all the work that went into this car that the top cover doesn't fit like a glove.
Thanks for the help.
