Engine Fault and Cruise Control? (archive)

Hello group,
I've got a 97 XK8 convert. with 46,000 miles. Today while driving, the Engine Fault light came on. Now, here's the scenario: While using my Cruise Control I had stopped for a stop light. After accelerating to about 40 I pressed the "Resume" button, and while the car was accelerating I pressed the "Set" button because I hadn't intended to press Resume. Before I noticed whether or not the Cruise was working, I had to slow for anoght stop light. At this time I noticed that "Engine Fault" was now displaying on my dash along with the orange light. My engine runs fine, the temp, oil, battery all are fine. The Cruise Control no longer works, and the light on the cruise button on the shift console no longer lights. I tried shutting the car off and restarting it but the Engine Fault didn't go away. All indications are that the car is running fine, but my Cruise Control is now broken. Does anyone have any opinions or insight? I'll of course contact my Dealer Wednesday.

Thanks,
Jeff Cline
