Most likely you need a steering column tilt motor..they go bad frequently on XK's. This would also most likely sovle your memory problem as the potentiometer for the tilt memory is incorporated into the motor, and can mess up the whole memory system! You do not need a convertible top motor, you need to have the hydraulic system fushed and the fluid replaced with updated fluid. The problem is that the fluid gels in the lines not allowing the latch to functioj properly. Your Limp problem is most likely you throttle body.......Although I have seen plenty of Fuel pump relays, and throttle relays go bad...also have them check your vacuum line from the throttle body to the Fuel pressure regulator...there is a T-fitting that is subject to breakage.....Hope this helps!
