Mike I have a 97' XK8 with 26k. So far I replaced the front brake pads and rotors. I had a problem with the steering wheel not going down, I believe the motor was sticking but it worked it self out. My front tire worn on the inside. I was told in 97' the front bushings failed early. Also they change the fluid for the convertible top. It seems the stuff they where using was too thick causing the top not to close. My car is going into limp mode. They want to replace the ECU and transmission module. I beleive I have a bad connection some where so I am not pay 1500 for them to guess. I was told during the last service that the thermostat was too warm about 5 degrees C so it was replaced of course it didn't fix the limp mode problem. I was charge 2 hours book time for something that took 30 minutes to change.
Let me see I have a 97 XK8 in Sap. Blue. Great car, sans problems that is. I have already, at just 26410 miles, had to replace 4, thats right count em' 4, convertible top motors, my computer, oil has leaked A LOT, and the memory system on the car will not seem to remember where to put the steering wheel. Anybody else had these problems? Just curious
Mike
