Help! Tall driver looking for a way to own XK8! (archive)

Hello All,

Please help. I love the style of the XK8 convertible. My only problem appears to
be a lack of headroom with the roof up. I am
6 foot 3-4. The top of my head/hair brushes up
against the convertible top and it is annoying.
Is there some kind of seat modification that can
be done to get some extra headroom. Two thoughts
are taking the seat off its tracks and bolting to the
floor (not the most desirable) or performing some
type of seat cushion modification? My only other
choice is to accept the fact that the jag won't work
with my body size and find another car. I want to
explore this before ruling it out though. One guess is that even an inch gained would make a difference. Any ideas???
