I recently had a problem with the convertible top cover/boot that you use to protect the top with when it is retracted. I'm sure the English have a proper name for it; I just don't remember what it is called.
Anyhow, it seemed to me that the cover was secured tightly; however, one side was not snapped completely. While driving over the Golden Gate Bridge, the passenger side corner of the boot came loose in a gust of wind and flipped back on to the trunk (a.k.a. boot). When I pulled over to fix the cover, I discovered that I had a lovely dent (small but noticeable) in very center of the trunk (a.k.a. boot).
So this post is just a word of warning.......
If you are using the cover, make sure it is securely fastened or else you may suffer the same fate!
Anyone have any comments on “paintless ding removal” companies? It's not worth taking it to Jaguar to fix.
