1) I love my new car! It's a 2001 XK8 in Roman Bronze (great new color for 2001). No NAV system (didn't want it), but I do have the 18" wheels.
2) Alpine Audiophile Stereo - Does it bother anyone else that they changed out the full range speakers in the rear seat, they still exist in the coupe, for subwoofers only. Supposedly it was because there was no room for a subwoofer on the rear deck of the convertible. It's a little strange having sound only come from the front of the car.
3) Wheel vibration from 50-70 miles per hour. I have a shimmy/vibration in the above speed range and have seen other posting relating similar experiences. Has it been determined that it is the wheels or brakes, or is the car just in need of an alignment or balancing?
4) Noise in rear, below the top. If you have the motor on and the top up, there is a slight noise from the rear like a broken speaker or hiss. It is very slight, and you can only hear it if you are parked, the radio is off, and there are no other sounds. It sounds silly, but it still bothers me on the rare chances I do hear it. Anyone else have the noise?
5) In the first week since I have had the car; I have already received several pits in the hood from rocks. Is it just bad luck, or is the low profile subject to road dings more often?
Any thoughts?

Well first some congrats are in order for getting such a 'bad ass' ride. I recently bought a 97 XK8 vert w/27k on it. Unfortunately mine doesn't have the stereo upgrade so I am going the aftermarket upgrade way. I'll let everyone know when it's done and how it went. But I can pretty much guarantee that I'll have more than subs in the back...not sure I like that arrangement. My kids (still fairly young) ride in the back and they like to hear the music with the top down...just crusin'.
I haven't experienced the wheel vibration nor the vert motor noise. However, I have had a couple of other issues which I've already posted.
I recently bought a 'bra' for the front to address those damn pits/dings. I've been able to find some decent pricing for a lot of parts and things from Bergen Jaguar (New Jersey) with no tax as well.
