Well, I must share some of my experiences with my newly acquired 97 XK8 (Triple Black) vert. After buying the car from a local reputable 'high end' used car dealer. I noticed a number things that needed attention. First, the convertible top was operating irratic (very slow, would only work after repeated attempts, needed manual assistance at times). Second, the heater didn't work. Third, as I mentioned in a previous post the engine began to stall on the freeway.

The convertible top is a fairly easy fix. Apparently the 97/98 models have a service bulletin out that address this issue. The hydralic fluid for the vert motor needs to be flushed every so often (how often they couldn't say). This costs $450 at the dealer.

The heater is also an easy fix. Apparently this too has a service bulletin in that you should not use a blue or green color anti-freeze...only use a yellow color anti-freeze as the green and blue (some chemicals in it)affect the heater core valve and make it stick not allowing any fluid into the heater core.

The third problem...has not been diagnosed.

The good thing here is that the dealer I bought the car from is attempting to address all of these issues. I will let you know what happens.

All in all the car is fantastic. Fast and a real head turner.

Happy driving all!
