I use a car cover when I park my XK outside for any length of time. After you get used to it, it doesn't take much longer to put on than it would to put on a front and rear sunshade (maybe less time since I have no idea how the rear sunshade would stay on). You can't beat a car cover for keeping the inside (and the outside) of a car cool on a hot Southern California day. I also believe that a car under a cover is safer from theft or vandalism - it's just another anonymous covered car instead of that fabulous, envy inducing, Jag XK.
