Mine was a '99, and I never had any major problems with it while I had it. The only real problem it ever had was that the adjustable steering wheel developed a mind of its own at one point. It would very slowly move to the innermost and topmost position and then wouldn't move no matter what I did...felt like a truck driver with it way up there. It turned out to be some relay that the dealership replaced, and from that point on there were no more problems with it.

I found it to be as reliable as my previous car ('98 M roadster) for the year I had it. I put 18,000 miles on it in that year and had a blast.

My only complaint is that it doesn't have a stick shift. It would be so much more fun to drive with a 6-speed!
