On top of that I have a small whistle noise at the rear and the dealer said it is the fuel pump.

Do you have the whistle at idle or only while in motion? I have heard from another XK8 convertible owner that the radio antenna can produce a whistle while the car is in motion. If the noise only occurs while the car is in motion, try turning off your radio to lower the antenna and see if this is the source of the noise.
