I recall someone mentioning a cracked EGR pipe a while back. the same thing happened on my wife's 99 XJR (23k). I noticed a new noise ( she didn't of course ), sounded like a leak from the rear of the engine so I brought the car to the dealer.

They also found a disconected vacum hose at the throttle body that would cause the cruise to disconnect right away with an engine failsfae message

and finally, they replaced the lower wishbone bushings, just like they did on my XKR at 9k

That was me... At the same time they also replaced some suspension bushings. ('00 XKR)
