thks for the answer.
I tried autocrossing once and liked it but indeed the XKR isn't the best for this... The Speedtrial have higher speeds, up to 70mph and no hard slalom, althought the course has a few tight corners where the Miatas beat the larger cars...
I've only ran 4 events so far, so I am still learning...
On 40 to 45 seconds laps, I run between 5/10 and 9/10 of a sec faster than a guy with a C5 and similar experience. In practice we run 10 minute sessions 5 cars at a time and I usually catch him.
Experienced guys with the same C5 where only 5/10th faster which shows the potential of the XKR. As a comparaison, one day I took my V12 E-type and he was a little bit faster than I was. Makes sense.
Compared to the shorter wheelbase M3 or M Roadster, they are faster, but I believe they were running on racing tire. Anyway the M Roadster has similar number but a shorter wheelbase so it should be faster...
I am hoping this set of tires will last longer, I really wore the front understeering on a JNCA slalom and on the autoX. The Speedtrial format will make them last longer.. hopefully...
At first I didn't notide the mesh on the front page because of the light, it almost looks like the stock chrome bar, which I don't like, the mesh looks better... smart choice.
I have a few stories and a bunch of pics of tghe speedtrial on our site www.southfloridajaguarclub.org ( sample below ) check them out !
