I went by my dealer on Monday and he gave me my deposit back on the spot. Dealer in Georgia (US) was very disappointed car wouldn't be produced - (had 27 orders). He said he was told by Jaguar that factory rep was going to send personal letter to everyone that had ordered a car.
He also said he hoped that Jaguar would spend the "extra" time now available sorting out the x-type quality issues as it was not up to the S-type quality. Also said XK sales had slowed to a trickle since new Mercedes SL became available and Jaguar had to address that as well.
