I enjoy this site and appreciate all the valuable information I have obtained, especially about the trunk lock mechanism. I inquired about trunk difficulties with the dealer and they told me it was just the way it closes- no problems, but when I returned and reffered to a bulliton they received, they magically discovered that the latch indeed was defective and they changed it. surprise, surprise, surprise.

I know the majority here feels their jags are great, and I do tend to agree its a nice car, but the quality of build is a sad state, at least for the earlier models, mine being 8/01.

There are several irritating noises that they are unable to repair. I have gas fume problems, an electrical problem, loud squeaking wheel, bent trailer arm that was bent either at the dealer or by the manufacturer or shipper.

The car looks good, its nice to drive, but its half assed build. Ive never owned another jag so I cant compare, but
compared to a mercedes, Jag sucks. People say Mercedes Benz builds a solid Car and they are correct. Jag threw together a bunch of parts half assed and drunken and try to pass it off.

They had a great Idea, maybe it will come together, but right here, right now, my jag sucks and the dealer has
shown "Zero" indication that they are any better.

Had some problems with my X-Type, but nothing to elevate me to a state of near apoplexy about the car. I think it's pretty good, but surely not perfect. It sounds to me as if you've run afoul of a non-responsive or ineffective dealer. If that's the case, you should look around for a better repair shop, one that can address all the problems that you itemize. Going ballistic is almost always counter-productive, no matter how irritated you get. If you really are all that displeased, may I suggest six little words: "My attorney will be in touch." Works every time.
