I agree, we should have more exterior/interior color combinations available in North America. Jaguar has changed the packages for 2003, so many of the features can now be ordered individually. However, buying the individual options will cost more than when they were included in packages. In my opinion, there is too much cost difference between the 2.5 and 3.0. For 2003, the additional cost for a 3.0 is close to $7000. For that cost, you get a half liter larger engine, no-cost automatic transmission and 17" wheels. I don't think that's enough to justify the added cost, particularly when Jaguar had to give a dealer incentive of $2100 to move the 3.0. Jaguar has actually reduced the cost of the 2.5 and increased the cost of the 3.0.

The feature that needs to be added is memory seats. All other cars in the X-Type's class have them available and when 2 or more people drive, it's a pain to readjust the seating and exterior mirror positions.

I would also like to be able to leave the car with a valet and have the trunk inaccessible. There should be a way to disable the the remote trunk unlock so you can store valuables.

As for styling, I think the front and rear are fine. To me, the sides of the car need "cleaning up". The rocker panel moulding looks too much like an add-on and should be smoothed into the contour of the body. Personally, I would also prefer not to have the moulding strip. I like the clean lines of the S-Type without the moulding. I doubt the moulding does much to prevent dings anyway.

And if I'm wishing, I'd like to be able to open the windows and sunroof from the remote. The last 3 cars I've owned had that feature and it's great to be able to quickly cool the interior of the car after it has been sitting in the sun.

Oh, and split the Sport Package up into 2 packages. One for the suspension, wheels, seats and steering wheel and package 2, for the body colored grill, bumpers and charcoal wood. I'd like the sport pachage, but with the chrome and regular wood.

I have had my 2.5 X for about three months now, and I haven't had ANY problems with it so far. It is really disheartening to hear of so many mechanical problems reported by many people and yet I drive around with a big smile wrapped around my face. It's really a great car. I do have my wish list for the future X and hope Jaguar can do something about them. This is my own nit-picky list...I'm sure others would like their problems fixed way high on theirs

#1...That digital odometer and trip computer needs to be redesigned...on a bright sunny day, I can't see the numbers anymore.

#2...ONE cupholder !!! Okay...only in America but seriously, the wife needs her cafe latte too.

#3...A little more rear legroom please.

#4...A little more headroom too...with the moonroof option, I'm inches away from the roof, and I'm NOT a tall guy (5'7).

#5...Why is the automatic trans an option? Cassette as the standard audio player??? C'mon, on a 30K+ car????

#6...The J-gate really needs to go...its outdated and feels a bit clumsy.

#7...Is it just me or does the overall shape of the X seems a little off. Don't get me wrong, I love the exterior styling...its just that the trunk (boot) seem too wide and humpy but then it glides nicely with the main body...then the lines swoops down abruptly down to the front end...maybe its aerodynamically efficient but i think that the front end should have been a little higher with the front headlights a little more rounder than oval and the grille a little bit more XJish...that would have been the ultimate ticket...more chrome would have also definitely fit the bill...just my .02 cents.

#8...The boot needs to be aggressively closed in order to get that satisfied feeling that it is close. Very unbecoming a Jaguar. The glove compartment is the same way...i have to close it with feeling because it has opened on me a couple of times when I did not add that elbow on the previous close.

#9...More choice in exterior/interior colors please. I currently have the Quartz and I love it but it wasn't my first choice...I wanted a dark green exterior but not BRG and definitely not the Emerald, and Heritage brown interior which is NOT available in the US...Oh well

#10...performance and handling is great on the 2.5, but seriously folks, would it have been that much more expensive if they would have added that extra six HP to make it an even 200 HP on the 2.5 X...Geez...

Yes...my list is nitpicky alright...Other lists will definitely merit more discussion but so far so good, my car has behaved and performed to my liking.

And to all the trolls that have been making their rounds here...seriously...its kinda pathetic...go drive your boy toy street rockets to death, for all we care... Horsepower this..quality that...WAH WAH WAH WAH...I love my car and i take care of it...you probably don't or you wish you were driving a Jag so buzz off to dreamland and save your lawn mowering dollars so you can buy one...pathetic trolls...sorry i got carried away there for a minute :)
