except for scewing up my tranny and killing 2 of the three loaners I got while my XJR was in the shop...I haven't had anything to complain about.
Joe
actually joe, if you look at an Audi A4 quattro you will see they actually considered the fact that it might have to be repaired at some point, you'll also notice the lack of stamped steel suspension parts. Ever heard of Quality there joe? Hey how about that wonderful jack they sent you to remove the whole mess? It's great, if your not over 5 ft. tall. why is it i don't have to "remove the powertrain" to service any other current jags? As for your last comment, I work with people who have been with jag for many years, some going on thirty. And the obvious fact is all of us see where this path is headed, you ever look at warranty times joe? how about parts joe?, any idea what the profit margin has been cut to there? How about the poor bastards that bought their x's? What's going to happen when the car is out of warranty? You really think they are going to spend more than the cars value to get it reapired? How about the people that buy them second hand for a fraction of the purchase price? You really think they are going to pay you to fix them joe? My attitude comes from the fact that they have done such a poor job on this car, it's really a shame to have the jag name attached to it, but nowadays I guess screw the consumer is the number one priority.
Take a pill dude.
Most vehicles these days require powertrain removal for a lot of repairs.
What vehicle manufacturer states a life expectancy beyond 100k miles? Most x-types are sold on lease and when they are turned in will get certified and resold with 100k warranty just like all other Jags.
As for the Ford name all over the vehicle you must not be looking at the XJs or XKs very closely as it's all over them as well.
By the way, you are not stuck fixing it. You could always find a new job. I'm sure the people you work with would be much better off without seeing your smiling face every day and enjoying your outstanding attitude.
