Yes, most if not all X-types have the rocking seat problem. I got the old "they are all like that" response when I asked my service dept. My dealer said that until Jaguar comes out with at TSB on the problem, that they were not going to fix it - as they wouldn't get reimbursed. They apparently tried to fix it by placing a makeshift plastic shim in the outboard seat rail - but it didn't work. The problem seems to be that there is too much play where the seat attaches to the rails bolted to the floor. Some have reported that the dealer replaced the seat rails (and/or some other seat components) and that solved the problem. I mitigated the rocking by moving the rear portion of the seat to the lowest position.

My passenger seat seems to rock slightly. Is this the same condition that you mentioned in your post? If so, why couldn't they fix that? Do you know the cause. Thanks
