Why not check with Bauer Jaguar in Santa Ana? They supposedly have a huge inventory of X-Types in stock.
I got a great deal (at the time) and have received great treatment from South Coast Jaguar in San Juan Capistrano. Talk to the internet salesman there, "Tom McNirney", and I think you'll be happy.
I'm sorry about your injuries and hope you heal quickly.
After plenty of test drives, I ordered my x-type March 8 in the South Bay (Torrance, Ca). I hadn't heard from them for about 6 weeks, so I called to find out the status on my car only to discover that my salesman and the manager were no longer there. I was in the area yesterday (Saturday), and decided to drop by. I asked to meet my new salesman and was told that he wasn’t there. I then asked if anyone could give me any info on when exactly my car would arrive. Another salesman told me that I would have to wait until Monday when the salesman assigned to me could tell me. I thought that anyone could look it up in the computer, but I guess not.
Also, I introduced myself to the new manager. I told him that I hope (wishful thinking) some of the minor problems, like the leaking windshield nozzles, rocking seat, drive shaft, and the "wine glass" noise had been fixed. He said that he has never heard of any of the problems, including the drive shaft. A salesman in the office also said that of all of the new x-types they have sold, “not one of them has had any problems.” Of course, I didn’t believe them. When they asked me where I got this information. I tried to tell them about this and another message board. They both said not to believe everything I read.
When I came home and told my husband, he became worried that we were not in the best hands.
I told him we’d see come Monday. I did my homework and negotiated the deal when we first ordered the car. I shaved off almost 4k from MSRP. I also gave them a $1,000 deposit. I have been waiting patiently because our other beloved car was totaled, so there is no extra car for me to drive. Surgery has kept me home for almost 3 months, so I really didn’t need to drive a car since my husband has a company vehicle. We have two other Jeeps, but when our two daughters left home, we let them use them.
Anyway, I am curious to know how the experience is for other people who have ordered their x-types. Thanks to this board. I have learned a lot. I know once I receive my new Jag. I am going to love it. Of course, I expect some minor glitches, but I learned from this board that it is to be expected.
Thanks!
