There has been much talk about this and I finally must speak up. Aftermarket air filters only improve performance if the OEM filter is the most restrictive point in the airflow. Not necessarily the case. Even if that is the case, the extent of the improvement depends on how much more restrictive the OEM filter is than the next most restrictive point.

Sorry for not RTFM, but I have a quick question;


Would adding an after market air filter to my manual 5 spd 2002 2.5L X-Type affect the warranty?


Also, for those who may know, would the HP/mileage benefit be worth the cost ~$70?


I am under the assumption that it would add 5-10 HP...
