Anthony,

Well, I am a subscriber to Consumer Reports and did send in my annual survey just last month. I think my responses will pull down their ratings of the X-type just a bit!

Oh, and I wonder what has happened to all the post-service customer satisfaction surveys I was supposed to get from Jaguar? Of my six visits to the dealership, I only got one from Jaguar - and had to tell them of all the problems that were not fixed, or even offered to be fixed. After my last visit, the dealership owner did call me. I told her of my continuing dissatisfaction, and she told me she would look into my service records and get back to me, but alas, she never did. Could my local dealer here have intercepted those surveys, or done something to cause me not to get any? Or are they not sent out after every service visit? Even one where I had to leave my car for 2 weeks and drive a Chevy S-10 pickup the whole time? (BTW, my only other choice on that visit for a loaner was a Geo Metro! Ha!!)

I'm glad you got the Lexus. It is amazing how once you have problems, and get hung out to dry by the manufacturer, nothing matters more than reliability. I know, I've been hung out to dry by more than one German manufacturer and I also went Japanese after the experience. If the German manufacturers and American manufacturers would have taken care of their customers, Lexus, Acura and Infiniti wouldn't exist. I wish people that have continuous problems such as yourself, could use this board to organize other owners for support. If all the people that responded to the age question below could be organized to email Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Road and Track, Consumer Reports, Car and other European magazines people with continuous problems would derive considerably more protection than they have as individuals. Best of luck with the Lexus.
