I got into my 2001 3.0 X-type and immediately relaxed into the sports seat which began rocking with glee. Feeling immediately at ease I fired up the engine and heard it begin its loud whine, slid the auto into reverse, and squealed out of my drive for my 1 mile jaunt to A&P. Turning onto the main road from my village, I noticed my washer nozzle was creating a fine mist as it leaked in the air ....Ahh!
Eventually I entered the car park at the A&P...my face red because of all the problems I have encountered with Ford quality. A fellow shopper took one look at my car and said, “Hey, nice Ford!”. I managed to get some groceries and stumbled back to my car.
Driving home, I moved swiftly round twisting country lanes through the bright sunny spring evening, and my trunk flew open as I rounded a corner sending most of the groceries airborne. I was to angry to stop and pick them up. When I got home I was locked in my X-type. After much frustration, I kicked the window out. I like it that way, and at least I won’t get stuck in it again!
My choice of car was far more than a means of transport – it was supposed to be a way to impress people. Yet recently I fear that instead of being jealous of my car, my friends are snickering behind my back!
Enjoy all…
