There ISN'T any newer CD (actually a DVD) which is the root of the problem. Here's the situation... A separate company compiles the NAV database and updates it every six months. This same company then distributes it to car manufacturers in CDROM format (including the S-Type). Since the X-Type was planned to use a DVD player, and this format is not supported by the vendor, Jag decided to license the software rights and outsource manufacturing the DVDs themselves, which they did. Unfortunately, not being software-types, they made no plans for future support. As a result, there currently is not a newer version nor is one planned near-term. When I personally made an issue out of this with Jag customer service, pointing out that the actual software put onto the 2002 DVD is data compiled in 2001(!), they sent me a $250 gift certificate to apologize and admitted they had a problem. So now we'll see....
Does anyone know how to get the 2002 CD-Rom for the Nav System. The CD that came in my Nov 2001 built x-type was 2001. Is it out yet? How do I get it, if it has been released?
