Why this BMW owner is here... (archive)

is because I like Jags. At any given time when I have to select a car in a certain class, I look at all the options and try to pick the one that is "best" from my perspective. The last two times, that has turned out to be the BMW candidate. I would be very happy if someday is was the Jag - I think Jags are the best looking and have the most "class". Those factors are not the whole picture, though. I think if the X-Type 3.0 had been on the market in '98, I would very likely it instead of the E36 328i. I think if the the redesigned XJ had been a 2002 instead of a 2003, I might have chosen it over the E65 745i. In both cases, though, my honest opinion was that the BMW was the best choice available at the time. However, I continue to follow Jaguar doings so as to be informed when the next decision comes due (probably when my wife's Lexus lease is up).
