My dealer forwarded my threatening emails (liberally using words and phrases like "lawyer", "sue", "never buy a jaguar again", "tell all my friends", "fraud", etc.) to Jaguar and discussed with them. I never actually talked to them myself. They happened to be in town for the Dallas auto show at the time, and it was resolved then.

In order to prove your case, I think you're going to need proof (printouts) of the advertising after you got the car. I'd send you mine, but i tossed them about three weeks ago.

Thanks for the input. Can you pass on the name of the Jaguar person you contacted. I bought the car off the lot in Feb, but the Mfg data is 11/01. In Feb, they were still showing the z rated tires on the website. Thanks

I battled jaguar on this issue and eventually won. You're case might be more difficult, depending on when you got the car. When I ordered the car, the specs said "Z" rated tires. When the car arrived, the published specs (website) still said "Z" rated tires. Apparently in September, Jag NA faxed all their dealers a page stating the spec had changed and the tires are no the "H" rated contis. They failed to change their advertising though. I argued that the replacement tires were much cheaper, and they were advertising before, during , and after my order period the "Z" rated tires. Eventually they gave in, and within a couple days, they changed all web specs to say "H" rated all-seasons. Therefore, if you can prove that they were advertising the "Z"s when you ordered that car, and AFTER the car arrived, you may get some new tires out of them. If however you can't show this, you're out of luck due to the "Specs can change at any time" line.

BTW, don't get angry with your dealer, they're doing what Jaguar tells them. My dealer fought hard to get me the tires, but couldn't do it until Jaguar NA agreed.

First off, I really enjoy this board and appreciate all the posts. In February, I leased a silver 3.0 sport, 5spd, x1, x3, and truly love the car. The performance is great in th city and on the highway. Although the last autoweek road test report seems to verify the acceleration figures, there is another area where I'm very disappointed with Jag. As indicated in the original R&T test report, the brochure, and the website, the tires included with the sport package were 225 45 zr 17 Pirelli P-Zeros or Continental Conti-Sport. My car has 225 45 hr 17 Continental Conti-Touring--not a bad tire, but hardly a true sport tire. I called Jag and complained to them about the apparent deception and their official response was "specifications can change at any time" and that is the correct tire. This is a bush league response. Does anyone with a sport package actually have the perormance tires or was this a bait and switch? Please comment...
