The owner's manual states the fuel capacity as 16.2 US Gal, but I can't find any info on how much is left when the reserve light goes on.

I've estimated it to be about 2 gal. At my present 24 MPG average this represents about 50 miles to having to push. Any better info?

For comparison:

1. I also have had problems with the gas gauge dropping suddenly to 0 from the red zone, even when I know there is gas in the car. It's very hard to tell how much range is really left.

2. If you add a small amount of gas when the yellow light comes on, the range may or may not readjust (e.g., add 2 gallons and it seems to readjust, bu t1 gallon is ignored). I have never had the computer error message but once or twice I have seen the range reset to 258 miles when the needle dropped almost to E.

3. I drive my auto 2.5 in very dense traffic most of the time -- the trip computer says my average speed is 12-14 mph -- and according to the trip computer, the average mileage is around 15.5 mpg.

4. When I fill the tank, the computer usually says the range is around 250 - 260 miles. The range comuted seems unrelated to the average mileage shown for either the A or B trip odometers, even though the two odometers will show different average mpgs.
