Funny, maybe it was somehting about yesterday ! I had the same thing. Filled up with gas in the morning drove the car all day. Parking in the late afternoon came to leave the parking lot, started the car and backed out. The engine/transmission warning light came on and stayed on. The strange thing was that I had no power, couldn't get out of first gear and the gas pedal did nothing ! Turned the car off, nothing happened. Turned the car off and the light cleared and everything seemed back to normal. This morning the car drove fine.
Any ideas anyone. HAs this happened to any one else. I have a manual 2.5.

Started today, when driving to the store. The Engine Malfunction light came "on" and stayed on. I took the car home and parked it. I wanted to check if any-body on the board can give me some good advice or an answer to this problem.

The last thing I did was put gas yesturday, I filled it up. I had no problem driving it yesturday.
