I appreciate the suggestion. My problem is that I bought the car on-line from an on-line broker. I live in San Francisco but the Jag was from a dealer near Beverly Hills. Looks like I'll need to get some screws and a drill bit.


It seems I have misspoken, about the laws...

Evidently in Califonia, there is no law requiring the selling dealer to provide mounting hardware or to affix the plates.

That will teach me to listen to office-mates...


In most states, by law, the selling dealer has to provide all the mounting hardware for license plates.

In many states, by law, the selling dealer has to affix the plates to the vehicle.
