Since we are talking about octane here, what is the octane in europe? I wonder if Jaguar tests their cars with the nice high-octane premium that europe gets (103, I think), yet C&D may have tested the car stateside, possibly in CA where we only get 91....Perhaps the engine electronics are that tuned to the octane...?
Here in Belgium I can get 95 97 or 99 octane. Don't think I've seen anything as high as 103. Uk is 95 and 99 I think but I don't drive much there.
unfortunately we also pay about a dollar per litre and quite a few countries here have rediculously high taxes on cars. Denmark for example has 180 per cent tax plus 25 per cent vat!
a loaded three litre x-type on Danish plates thus costs just under 100.000 dollars!
