I purchased my x-type last year at age 23. I think your son would appreciate the car a lot more if he bought it with his own money. However, if you're still going to get him such a nice car, I would go for the boxter instead. I see a 17-year-old boy enjoying that car a lot more than the x-type. Also, it might be safer since he can't pile 4 of his friends into the backseat.


I currently drive an S type and I have had a few problems with it but nothing major. My only child, a son, is graduating from high school this June and I would like to suprise him with another car this time a Jaguar X-type but I would like to know if you think a 17 year old would look appropriate in a Jaguar. My wife and I have been looking at cars and we're hooked on the x-type or a boxster.
