If you knowingly accepted it with the cassette you have no complaints if Jaguar latter makes a change. However I could understand you position due to 2 things. First, it's rather dumb for Jag to sell a "younger buyer" luxury car without in dash CD standard, so it's a mistake on their part. Second, they apparently chose to have an in dash stereo that prevents after market replacement and therefore should accept the corporate responsibility that goes with that decision.
Do you really feel that every time a product you have purchased is later improved, you are owed some sort of reimbursement?? Every car on the market is updated EVERY YEAR to attract more buyers. Do you feel that, as a first year buyer, you are entitled to every change that occurs in later model years? And every manufacturer rebate issued in the future to boost sales? The reality of the free market is this: Jaguar sold you a product at a price the two of you mutually agreed upon. End of story. The fact that Jaguar later sweetens the pot to attract other buyers is irrelevant to your purchase decision.
