Teenager would look appropriate in a Jag? So you want to teach your son that decisions are based on being a poser? Why should his car be based on what your hooked on? I thought it was a present to him. What you should be looking at is the safety issue for teenagers that don't have much driving experience. Avoid quick cars like the Jag and Boxster. Look at cars with high proven safety records- both crash tests and real world injury and death statistics. Avoid a large back seat since distraction from friends is the biggest accident causer for kids. A manual transmission also helps them maintain their concentration on the driving. When you look at the death and injury rate of teenage drivers and their passengers, these should be your main concerns.
I currently drive an S type and I have had a few problems with it but nothing major. My only child, a son, is graduating from high school this June and I would like to suprise him with another car this time a Jaguar X-type but I would like to know if you think a 17 year old would look appropriate in a Jaguar. My wife and I have been looking at cars and we're hooked on the x-type or a boxster.
