Hear it from a 19 year old. Me. Personally I went for X-type over Boxster when my dad decided to get me another car (car I was driving went to sister). If I asked my friends who are same age or slightly older than me, they would have said boxster. So I think it depends on what type of cars your son likes. But any teen better appreciate ANY car parents give them! too many kids, at least in my neighbourhood instantly become snobs after daddy buys them bimmers, etc..
of course I'm not one of those snobs =)and not saying your son is a snob either or will become one...
