I think you *should* have some fashion of a small disclaimer.
And this place ins't so much a living room, as it is a coffee shop. (A living room has an expectation of exclusion. A public place like a coffee shop doesn't and it held to a different standard.)
However, if someone gets drunk, starts making loud obnoxious comments, and starts causing a fight--I'm kicking them out the door without any further ado.
Well you indicate here that you have an expectation of behavior, but that is not conveyed by the nature of the site. A casual visitor expects to make *any* (legal) posting as there are no clear restrictions.
Oh, and on a side note, IANAL but, you do realize that by deleting some of the contents that this thus puts a different legal burden on your shoulders. You could be held liable for a comment that you somehow missed deleting. But you best talk to your lawyer on this to see what laws are applicable in your jurisdiction.
And I do hope that I convey to you the fact that I am respectful of the job you do and am not complaining with any of this discussion on comment deletion. I consider myself a member of this board and try to provide comments that increase the value of this space to the rest of the membership. As such, I have digressed off of X-type talk for a lazy Saturday (I know, I know: I should spend my Saturday out on the roads with my Jag!) to pursue some ideas I think worthy of discussion. Hope I haven't offended anyone.
