I think I read that Ford are working with Peugeot on a diesel engine for the X type.Peugeot have a great reputation for diesels - before the X I had Citroen XM 2.1 turbo diesels for 10 years and they were fabulous engines with a range of 900 miles on a full tank (18 gallons UK).
I am sure that Ford/Jaguar will get it right with the diesel - and hope I can maybe get one when they do.
Regards,
Matt.

Because of the high sulphur content in diesel fuel in the US, those engines are not able to easily meet polution regulations. The only manufacturer that offers a diesel in car at this time is VW.

That's interesting because I always thought it was because fuel was so much cheaper in the US, that there was no point selling a diesel car, because fuel economy is less important to the US public than it is to us Brits.
