What would you have bought if not X? (archive)

There has been some talk here lately about which cars the X-Type is stealing sales from. Three people that I have shown my X to have expressed a serious interest in purchasing one. None of them are even in the (near) luxury market. I wasn't either. I was all ready to purchase a (gasp) Saturn VUE! Hey, I had my reasons. I'm waiting for the F-Type but I needed something in the meantime, and I figured the VUE would make a decent inexpensive 2nd vehicle whose passenger/cargo room would complement the F. But the X-Type came along and saved me from myself!

So, just curious about the rest of you. Can anyone top the Saturn VUE?? Someone else mentioned a Ford Focus, so I know I am not the only crazy one here.
