it can be switched. Mine had a casette, and they switched it with a cd player the next day.

Well as I expected, my dealer says it can't be done, although they also said that nobody has ever asked to do it before! I'm having them contact Jaguar to get an answer. Matt, where is your dealer located? Did you pay a charge or was it part of the original deal? I've had my X since September, and I don't think the in-dash CD was out yet. I'm doing everything I can not to be ripped off $900 for a changer in the trunk! Thanks!
