I agree with you about the Boxster. I also think that the 3-series are becoming that way too. WAY TOO MANY OPTIONS, and usually end up not getting what you want on the lot. They seems happy just loading every car up with options i don't need. It is usually never a good idea to order a car either, that just mean i loss the power of negotiation.

Good point. The advantage to the consumer of bundling up the options into packages is that it increases the odds of finding exactly what you want in stock. Which means better negotiated price and less wait.
