EASY TO ORDER:
Jaguar had to make hard decisions on "reducing possible configurations" (actually desired by most customers) vs. "meeting everyones unique requirements / desires". I think reducing configurations will help 2nd owners buy (ie: 1st owners sell).
TOO MANY CHOICES:
I was interested (a few years ago) in a Porsche Boxster... do you know how many different options you can on that stupid car. It's mind boggling... more than that... it's annoying. In the end, I gave up from over-stimulation. (BTW: I checked the 2002: you can order 7 different wheels styles, paint can cost +$3000, between the Carbon / Wood / Leather packages... arg)
CHOSE WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU:
We all seriously considered the X-type "before" our purchase. There are many good alternatives. It is a fun/unique/luxi-sport/4door/sedan ... or any thing YOU find special about it. I personally LOVE how my X does beautiful donuts and figure-8s on snow covered parking lots (what kind of nut make donuts with a Jag... that would be me).
SIZE MATTERS:
I know what your concern is about headroom with the moonroof. I am 6'0" (not a giant by any means in the US... but apparently >95 percentile US male). I use the roof to judge when to get my hair trimmed (once/month)... I wear it short. It is a car for "most" body sizes... I do like how far the seats move back.
ALTERNATIVE AGAIN:
Hey, how about a convertible... no pesky moonroof. Or custom seats... you could be like a basketball superstar with custom seats. "Power bubble" roof like a Viper?
YOU HAVE DECIDED WISELY...
What ever you decide, please yourself first. Everyone driving an X-type has different reasons. (I would not have considered it at all if it were RWD... I chose the X-type over a Ford Focus ZTS 4door sedan ... crazy isn't it)
The point is to everyone: enjoy your toys and support others as they revel in their toys. There's enough in it for you,... and for me,... and for everyone of us.
