Thanks...oh and yes...i got the charcoal interior with the Quartz exterior, it is just perfect...those were the colors that I wanted going to the dealership and they happen to have just gotten new cars this month with the exact options I want...now how lucky is that...no ordering and no waiting for 90 dayss! ...I guess I am just too giddy right now...hopefully I can keep being this smiley smiley for a long long time...
I finally got my 2.5 X-Type today. Its Quartz, Auto, X1 Option, metallic paint, and single in-dash CD all for the great price of $33,000 (Thousand Oaks Jaguar, CA). I was able to shave off at least a couple of grand off the MSRP so I'm real ecstatic. More importantly, the drive is excellent and not much less power than the 3.0L that I coveted. I've been checking this board for a few months and I really grilled the sales and service personnel about the known problems. So far so good. No weeping windshield jets, tried the trunk locking few times, no howling and whining from the engine, but its still early...I'm really loving this car which will be our weekend car. I used to drive a BMW 325 and the Jag just blows the Beemer on the luxury and drivability factors. Besides, the Beemer was great when I was single...I'm married now with a kid...its a little different for me and my tastes...the X-Type surely fits my needs...anyways, thank you to everyone who has given us so much information and believe me, the experiences that everyone here has shared is most definitely invaluable. I'm sure in the coming days, weeks, months, or years, I will (hopefully not!) encounter some car problems, but thanks to this board, I am not alone. I will post my car pics as soon as I can get my hands off the steering wheel and get my digi camera.
BTW, the sales personnel at the dealership were very friendly, helpful, and NOT THE SNOTTY AND SNOBBY looks that I got when I tried looking at the BMWs and Mercedes Benzes. If you are in the area, call Stuart...he's great...
