By the way, what's your take on people who buy the BMW 330 coupe over cars like the Corvette? They both only have 2dr. I could see the logic in buy a M3 over a Corvette, since they both have similar preformance. Corvette(41k-46k) with 350hp, M3(45k-50k) with 333hp and GERMAN.

A coupe still has a back seat. A Corvette is a two-seater. Plus, the Corvette's perception is "American muscle car", so they are kind of different market segments. The BMW racing versions of the M3 are probably part of the attraction as well. HP comparison isn't everything - frankly I don't know what an M3 weighs vs a Corvette, or how their track times compare. Even at the same price ($40k-ish), I guarantee you I'd never sell my wife on letting me have a Corvette, but an X-Type R loaded with (brown not grey) wood & leather that coincidentally happened to be just as fast as a vette would be easy:)
