Please don't flame me, but I passed up on my chance to buy an X-Type. I still think it is the best looking car in its class and I would love to see one in my driveway every morning. But I went with an Acura CL because of 1) the problems cited on this board, and 2) the features included on the Acura that would have cost an extra $8,000-10,000 on the Jag. Nonetheless, I have pangs or regret every time I pass an X-Type on the road. That's saying a lot when I'm now driving the best car I've every owned. My one consolation is that in a few years I might be able the afford an S-Type, which I like even better than the X. And by the way, I much prefer this board to the Acura forums I've found. CL board members seem to be less mature and more focused on speed and aftermarket enhancements.
