At the time of delivery, there isn't too much you can check, at least in terms of the issues some of us are experiencing with our earlier-build X-Types. I can only think of one, that's to make sure the check valve is installed in the windshield washer line. Other than that, just look over the car to make sure the paint is not chipped and that you have all the equipment you ordered.
My advice is not to get too paranoid about the problems you read on this board. If you do, you will not enjoy your car. Some of the sounds you hear will probably be normal, although different than what you are used to. If you do have problems, they will be obvious and you can deal with them then. Enjoy the ride!

Hi all,
Just discover this great discussion board while I was browsing the web.
I will get my X-type 2.5 from the dealer in about 2 weeks. I indeed ordered my car in late November last year but I requested to have it delivered in March (at least the Winter is over, no snow, no mess). Thus, I am not quite sure if my car is manufactured before or after January 02. From the messages, it looks like we have lots of things (minor defects) to check @ delivery. Could anybody kindly post a complete list of items we have to watch for please? Your effort is greatly appreciated.
